The people at Microsoft are getting ready to deliever SP2 for Vista and Windows Server 2008 just before the release of the next OS ie. Windows 7 (expected date late 2009 or start 2010). There’s news going rounds that beta version SP2 has been given to some of the internal testers and evaluators of the company at that same time as the release of Windows 7 Ver. 6801(See the gallery) was given at the PDC,08 conference.

The info about about SP2 as given on Microsoft site “This Microsoft Knowledge Base article will be updated with more information about Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2) and Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) when the information becomes available. Currently, the product release notes and related information about Windows Server 2008 SP2 and Windows Vista SP2 are not available.” As far as the “rumors” about the updates introduced in these versions, the biggest deliverable would be the Hyper-V integration with Server OS edition.
Well as far as the features are concerned i think that some of the features on Windows 7 might be integrated onto Vista SP2 and Windows Server 2008 SP2. Lets wait and watch !
